sattman,

COMBOX' are not that readily available aftermarket. You can get one from the dealer or one of the advertisers here specific to your MY and build month. REALOEM.com can get you the part number. There are two types. a Media only (no telematic services like calls to BMW dealership when faults occur or placing service requests), and the COMBOX Media/Telematic Combo, (which mirrors OEM functions). Both require wiring changes in the plugs behind the rear seat where it gets installed. Coding is easy by adding the proper vehicle order (aka VO), and telling the CIC there is a COMBOX present.

Patryk at info@bimmer-tech.net or Alex at info@bimmerretrofit.com, can get either for you. I have the Media only version, as the Media/Telematic was not available at the time, and giving up the telematic functions were of no loss to me. If I need service,I call the del are the old fashioned way, by phone for an appointment.

You may find one on EBay, but they are hard to come by. Hope this helps

Zerocks thanks for the help. I thing that all i need is the media version. With this you can see the album art and can use pandora see text messages. I'm not that familiar with the other functions of the media versions. What else can it do. i don't really care if the car can make service appointments for me, i can do that myself.

Combox Media
- album art
- BT music transfer
- Video transfer
- USB in center compartment Audio input
- Internet with enabled handheld
- BMW connected drive

Off the top of my head.

Zerocks you are very knowledgable on this think i will get my 2nd hand comboz/cic/screen with the emulator to minimize coding so i can do it all myself? have i got this right?

As aside note on the CIC maps can you add pois like speed cameras as i have these on my ccc and they are saving my bacon all the time and would be lost without them? Cheers
