regarding Z06's and that brand, I was on the car and driver blogs the other day reading about the new "427 convertible"and all the bloggers that had had a corvette thought it was a bucket of bolts-just sayin'. Fast and all but crappy seats, interior, don't let loose progressively, rough riding, cappy fit and finish. And they cost like a 100k now!!
i dont like it anymore to be honest. as soon as I get it back i might trade it in for a Z06
I have a newer Z06 with cam, headers, exhaust, etc etc and its night and day between the M6 and the Z06. 2 totally different beasts.
They are meant for 2 different purposes, but if you want pure speed and more of a track car the Z06 is the way to go. On the flip side there are 100 vettes out in town when I take it out and it looks like all the others, but the M6 gets noticed a LOT more often. It's funny though...the women who are attracted to the M6 are a different caliber than the women who are attracted to the Z
Yes-Corvette is "America's Sports Car" with dominating performance and light weight. I had one many years ago and it was quite a shock regarding quality but I hear it has gotten better. Nevertheless, the experience funneled me to Porsche where I remained content for many years.
I cannot imagine driving a Corvette daily-perhaps folks that can endure suffering better than I are well suited to the task. They are fast-way faster than our humble little M6's but 0-60 and all that stuff pales when one lives with the shortcomings over a number of years.
The one I had was the creakiest, worst riding car i could ever imagine and no amount of horsepower would ever entice me to return.
Finally, the dealership experience was horrible-I could never even get the tires balanced correctly! Can you imagine owning a new car with a horrible front end shudder and the the owner of the the dealership claims that you are imagining the problem?
Looking back-its funny but I thank BMW for much higher standards.

I had a C5 before. granted it wasnt the smoothest ride, but it was so much fun. dont get me wrong, i like the m6, but i prefer the "racecar" feel the Z06 gives ya. and the 2008+ have way better interior. leather dash, and so on...
i know the m6 is a better car, but damn the Z just steals my heart when I see one :/

I totally agree with you. Aside from the flimsy build quality, the Z is a great looking car. I kind of wish Chevy would change the seats. There is absolutely no support whatsoever and the bolsters are set so wide that I support myself with my knees in a turn.

spot on borther! thats why i bought this car instead. your 100% right. the engine is a thing of beauty and i used to be partial to american muscle but unions have destroyed the quality of american cars. sorry, okay thread on....
