I had a buddy who had an M6 back in 08 and he was a member of a lot of bmw forums. Even this one i believe. He told me that apparently there are people who work for bmw who are on these boards to monitor members who have mods and discuss taking them off when needing to fix something that the warranty replaces. I find this hard to believe but with how cheap bmw is i wouldnt be surprised. You would basically have to list your name for them to even have any proof but a.) i wouldnt even think thats legal and b.) has anyone heard of this? And if they are here i think a simple ban is not enough. I think an IP lookup followed by a can of paint thinner on their car would be more justified.
That is the 2nd most paranoid thing I have ever heard.
1st place went to a guy in my job training class that was convinced the classroom had hidden cameras installed to monitor the students behavior in between lessons. Not for safety, but for conduct.
My doorbell just rang and it was the exhaust police.
They asked me if I was contemplating removal of the secondary cats.
I deferred answering, locked and bolted the front door and called my exhaust attorney.
LOL im serious guys. They are after us haha but seriously, i wouldnt put this past me. It would not shock me one bit if this was true. Its called cost v.s. greed. BMW charges an absurd price for their cars, parts, labor and warranty. The profit they make is crazy. But whats even crazier is the greed. They are right up there with most insurance companies aka legal extortion aka devil owned.
Go ahead Mr. irishbimmer, make light of this at your own peril, but I just learned from my dog (Rufus) whose sneaking out each night do do this poodle down the street whose owned by the co-worker of my sisters best friend, who just happens to be the assistant of the Dept of Enery Stephen Chu...but your exhaust attorney is on the payroll of Al Gore....they are reading your e-mails, watching those who follow your tweets....run while you can!
Rufus left me krypted message that said to make another bacon drop by the bay bridge and in return he'll have more details for me.
I am certainly glad to hear you are on my side (so, you say), and that your dog Rufus has an active sex life and likes bacon. Who wouldn't like that kind of life? When ya get to be my age, you're only allowed bacon every so often.
However, built240 has it that you are actually a BMW dealer monitoring this page for charcoal deletes and after-market pulley installs for warranty violations.
