Hey Vraa-I understand what you are saying about internet humor, but I don't believe it has anything to do with age (another faux pas). It has to do with the fact that Cambodians endured the horrors of genocide quite recently, and the memories are still fresh enough to be a sensitive area. The comments could be construed as racial slurs, especially by those with a predisposition to sensitivity such as asian ethnicity. Most importantly, the board is supported by sponsors who may, or may not be offended by a seemingly innocuous comment. Should they withdraw financial support because of repeat offenses, we are all the worse off for it!
Let's just hope for built240's sake their are no BMW spies on the board from Cambodia, and that he procures a good tin foil helmet to prevent any mind control.
I didn't read all four pages, but I did see on page one the laughs about spies. I can tell you that Subaru, Mitsubishi, Nissan, and others troll forums and take note of certain things. If they can tie mods to an owner and deny a claim, they can then use the forum posts as evidence. They have done this in the past.
It's not widespread, and it is used (according to people I spoke with) as backup info, as they still have to physically verify your car was modded to deny a claim. They can't just point to an internet posting. A few extended warranty companies do this too.
It's not tin-foil hat time, but it's not pure paranoia either...it is happening, just not to the extent that some people hear via internet tall-tales.

1) While we tend to be adult males here, let's not be quite so explicit with our sex lives. PMs and the Off-Topic forum are better avenues for that kind of thing.
2) Racial slurs are simply not acceptable - even humorously.
