I use a Gopro HD, skeleton case and 2x32Gb cards from dealextreme to record my hooning. Works like a charm, you can record +10h continuously and stitch it together with avidemux. I haven't used it on the outside of my car, that would probably be fun too. Only two drawbacks: the buttons+beeps are unresponsive in the casing (did I press it? or not? BEEP BEEP, oh ok.) and it tends to bug out if you let your memory card fill up completely.

For those that are planning to purchase the Drift HD170 like I did, FYI, I paid $255.00 for mine 2 weeks ago.

Today's price at Amazon dot com is $209.00 plus free shipping. Dang!

Thanks Dan! Ordered and on the way!

Hasan,

I ordered the external mic from Amazon but it is sourced from a different vendor. I'm on my iPad with limited connectivity but Amazon should be able to take care of you.

I've got a GoPro HD which I bought when it was on sale at $209 and want to get another (waiting on price drop) so I can try out their new 3D version.

I also saw another camera which incorporates GPS so on the video you can see the position of the car on the race track, speed, and G forces. Anyone know what that is? Saw this on a lot of youtube videos.

Dan,

Thanks for another amazing video. The raw capture and editing are fantastic! You guys had a very nice 1,500+HP convoy! I especially liked the footage when you passed the white econobox...you were really getting on with the program!!

I'm expecting my camera by Wednesday and hope to put some footage up on the weekend! Thanks for sharing!!

Kindest Regards,
Milton

Thanks NCM6Cabrio, I think that is the one. Anyone have experience with the Contour GPS? It looks cool to be able to get the mapping, speed, etc on the video particulary if you take your car to the track. Any feedback appreciated.
