Yeah they are different: one is a coupe (E63) and the other is a convertible/cabio (E64). Both are BMW 6 series cars (which were made from 2004 - 2010). The M6 was made from 2005 - 2010 in both E63 and E64 bodies.
Don't confuse the BMW body ID of "E63" with a Mercedes Benz model of the same name.
The model names (not body IDs) for the BMW E63/E64 were:
- 630 (never sold in the U.S.)
- 645
- 650
- M6
They were all made by Bavarian elves in Dingolfing, Germany (where BMW makes 5, 6 and 7 series cars).
You never know what people don't know. Sure as I would have made some smartass reply, it would have been an honest question and and my reply wouldn't have gone too well.
I was rolling down 3rd Street when I peak out of my peripheral vision a fellow M6 rolling by...I was hitting the post office so I pulled over to park, Ollie aka oneconversion must have flipped around the block and double parked next to me with a grin and wanted to chat. We had like a 10 minute conversation since I was late for a meeting but we swapped info about getting together, maybe getting a group going in SF.
He also hasn't done any mods like me but has been trying to figure out what he wants...I've pretty much narrowed down my first round of mods. Now just trying to find a good shop in SF BAY AREA to bring it to, I'm not the most handy. Any recs boys???
