2013 bmw m6

Hope it isn't a repost, but WOW does this car look good. I really hope it looks like this. The only thing that could make it better was if it had a TTV10 in it instead of the V8. I also find it interesting that it will have more HP than the M5 (if that is true). But I always wanted a more aggressive front end on the M6 to set it apart from the regular 6 series.

"Next year, BMW will unveil the newest and latest generation M6. Built atop the 6 Series Coupe platform, the most expensive M models in the line-up will join another exciting 6 Series variant due out around the same time, the Gran Coupe. Rumored to be phased out when the new bodystyle arrives, the M6 prototypes showed recently that F12 M6 project is still on track. Therefore, rendering artists are beginning to illustrate the design of the new M flagship. Jon Sibal draws out the new M6 for LeftLaneNews and showcases a car that continues to carry the typical wider rear fenders and the usual four-tailpipe exhaust system characteristic to M models. At the front end, a more aggressive and typical M-style bumper with integrated diffuser is included as well. A cloth top will return in an effort to both keep the droptop’s weight to a minimum and to give it a more distinct, classic appearance. The new M6 will likely be powered by an upgraded version of the 4.4 liter V8 engine, producing near 600 horsepower. A similar engine but will less output is rumored to appear in the next M5 as well. The power is exclusively directed to the rear wheels and should make for an impressive acceleration. A regular sprint to 60mph is not expected to take more than 4 seconds. The 2013 BMW M6 will debut next year most likely at the Paris Motor Show.

The aggressive front end design is a welcome change! I hope that the final HP figure will be north of 600 HP! It looks like a cab is in my future!

According to all the media journals so far, there will ONLY be an automatic offering.
Next-Gen 2012 BMW M5 to be Automatic Only (The Torque Report)
The M specialists had difficulty reigning in all the torque, so they outsourced the transmission. The only transmission available is the 8-speed from ZF.
ZF Friedrichshafen AG | 8-speed-automatic transmission

Additionally, I am curious to see how the car sounds... why bother putting 4 tailpipes on a car with a turbo-muted exhaust?

I definitely like the front end, and the fact that on all other renderings and spy shots, the headlights are opened up a bit more.

I am sure there will be few complaints of the improved fuel economy in order to get rid of gas-guzzler tax and bring the BMW line-up average up a few notches to prep for the new standards proposed... however, I would be hard pressed to consider getting rid of my high revving V10 petroholic ... regardless of how either drives, the S85 is a thing of beauty! But alas, technology moves on.

I think it should be a little concerning that an engine with 4.4 liters and 8 cylinders that is producing 600+bhp may be used. That is alot of stress on that size of a block. Me personally, if that type of engine does in fact get installed, I will wait to see how it performs over the long haul before I even consider getting rid of the 5 liter v10.
