Update to BMW tools guys:
https://rapidshare.com/files/980891824/setup_2100.zip
This contains the BMW Service Tools installer with the latest INPA 5.0.2.0, NCSEXPERT 1.0.0.1, EDIABAS 7.2.0 2.0, and the latest other tools such as Tool32 etc. Works fine, i've installed this just now, it will prompt for the file locations of existing directories, just point them, and the installer will do the rest. The only thing I had to do was blank the .TRC in the work folder before the first module read would work correctly. I had to do this upgrade to enable the reading of the latest modules which are being retrofitted to our cars from the 2011 range. I also updated the E89 daten(E90) folder using V41 daten files, you'll see why in the next part.
For those of you experimenting with modules never installed in E63, who want to read things such as combox etc. I have found out that you can use a SSD file which simulates the latest E90, to effectively bypass the VIN identification stage of NCS Expert and allow you to read those new modules which now exist in your vehicle. I've attached the file to here as a txt file, simply rename the file ending to .ssd. Instructions and file excepted from 5series.net, thanks to the guys over there for sharing the knowledge:
1. In NCS after you choose the Profile, click the VIN button.
2. Then instead of clicking the ZCS button you choose "Open File".
3. Then point to your ssd file. That will fool NCS into thinking the car is anything with any VO. Basically does not look at the car.
4. Click the back button and now you are in the normal NCS except its using a different car/vin/vo to what you have. In that list you will see the MEDIA ecu listed.
