So, after a few phone conversations with some stuck members at various steps, we uncover that different MY and month builds require updated files to work. The updated files go in these three folders.

\NCSEXPER\SGDAT\ -------- .ipo files
\NCSEXPER\DATEN\ -------- coding data (daten) for models
\EDIABAS\Ecu\ -------------- .prg files

The \NCSEXPER\DATEN files are in a few posts back

The \NCSEXPER\SGDAT are zipped below and replace the files in that folder

The biggest one (34MB zipped) is the \EDIBAS\Ecu files. It's too large to post here, or email. Just tried with another member.

Anyone have a way to host them? The root source of all three are contained in the cumulative .rar files at rapidshare, which if you do not sign up for a premium account will take considerable time to d/l.

So I have them zipped and ready to upload to someone who can host them.

Ok I've been following this thread with interest and I have a few questions:
1. Has anyone in the SF Bay area got this working on a 2010 M6? Could I piggy back off your results? I work in Cupertino and live over by Half Moon Bay ...
2. Do we have a definitive "Order cable from this person" and "You need exactly these files"?

thx

Thank you Eddiejb

Nice find for free Cloud Services! So I created a new account at

https://www.amazon.com/ap/signin?_en...ntifier_select

login is zerocks123@aol.com (not going to be used as an email account)
pw is m5board

In the Documents directory you will find;

e60 03 28-11.zip... These are updated DATEN files that should be placed in the C:\NCEXPER\DATEN\E60 folder
ediabas ecu folder.zip .........These are updated files that should be placed in the C:\EDIABAS\ECU folder
ncsexper sgdat.zip .......These are updated files that should be placed in the C:\NCSEXPER\SGDAT folder

Profiles.zip. these are additional profiles that if needed can be used as additional options when you open NCS>file>load profile
.......These go in C:\NCSExper\PFL folder

Paste the files in these folders manually and do not delete any files that are not overwritten. So paste and YES to replace all

These are necessary if you have a MY2010 and in some cases >2008. There is no harm updating these for any MY, that I know of

I have come across some members with cable issues, even though the cable itself has the correct sticker and identifier on it. I am not sure the source of these (only two thus far that I am aware of)

Hope this helps move things along

Thanks again Eddie

Ledger:

\NCSEXPER\SGDAT\ -------- .ipo files
\NCSEXPER\DATEN\ -------- coding data (daten) for models
\EDIABAS\Ecu\ -------------- .prg files

Cable configuration

Learning from a member with a cable problem:

In addition to the last post, seems some members who purchased cables seemingly with the correct label and advertisement, that it is truly a K+DCAN cable, turns out they are not.

The correct description is

K+DCAN
USB Interface
(INPA Compatible)

Here's the difference. If you look directly at the pins in the cable, holding the wider side up and the narrower side down, you should see pin#8, which is the upper left location missing. The pin should not be there. If it is, it is not truly a K+DCAN, USB Interface, (INPA Compatible) cable, in spite of what the label says

If you do have a pin at that spot, a member was successful in desoldering the wire to that pin and that pin only (don't try and just break the pin off). Then his cable worked flawlessly. So buyer beware

Just another check to rule out any cable issue.

Thanks again Allen for all your help

I verified last night that I do have all the pins so I will try and open up the cable to disconnect #8s pin wire.

Interesting and excellent info.

Thanks Allan!

I will definitely check my cable when I get home in 2 weeks.

Different error - UI server...

Hey guys, I got a different error...believe I followed all the instructions accurately including copying the updated files from the Amazon cloud into those folder.

By the way, the creation of the INPALOAD shortcut step is hidden under the image on the .pdf file.

When I try to run the INPALOAD shortcut, I get the attached error...any suggestions? Thanks

Error: UI server not found or illegal version!

Dave, I've never seen anyone post an error such as what you did. That message looks like bad download of the program itself or incompatibility with your OS, or an incorrect shortcut. Seems like you are using Win7, which the program will work with. And I assume a 32 bit pc, not 64 bit.

In either case I would try reloading the program and perhaps even downloading it again. It should be approximately 98.2KB in it's zipped form. Also , make sure your INPA shortcut is a short cut to C:\INPA\BIN\INPALOAD.EXE. And also recheck that you unzipped everything to C:\ , not a subfolder you may have created

Keep us posted

Yeah, I'm running 32-bit Win7...tried 2 different NCSEXPER.rar files...one downloaded when it was first reference in this post and a new copy from a recently posted address.

Tried capitalizing to match the PATH, but didn't make a difference. Running out of ideas, thinking that maybe it's cause my OS is a Corporate Image that has been modified...

Curious, without anything plugged into the laptop and you try and run INPALOAD, what happens?

I get the same error regardless if it's hooked up to my car or not. Also get the error when I try and run INPA. When I do hook it up and go through the ignition ON steps, the ODB plug does light up red for the 30 seconds, but can't get past the error.
