Randy, Dinan SW has nothing to do with this error, so we can rule that out.

I just caught your response a few posts back, as a result of my speed when I was typing where the contents of the the E60 DATEN files belong. The attachment in post #242 go in the C:\NCSEXPER\DATEN\E60 folder, not the EDIABAS\ECU folder. I was trying to point out there are updated file for the EDIABAS\ECU folder, that I haven't uploaded, as I want to be sure we rule out other options first

So did you actually out the files from post #242 in the EDAIBAS\ECU folder or in the NCSExper\DATEN\E60 folder

lets back up a few steps

Hey Allen, yes I have a 2010. I did the update listed on 242, are the C:/EDSIABAS/ECU folder updates within the e60.zip?

Randy, I just re-read your post. You were asking if the EDIABAS\ECU files were included, and the answer is no. I'm not convinced you need them.

Let's try one more thing. Reboot your laptop, which will give you a fresh load of the Ediabas program which stays running unless you close it manually

Open NCS Expert
File>load profile>deafult....
F1>F3>E60>CAS
You should see your VIN and E63(E60) at the top

These steps, through >CAS, do not require the cable being connected to the car. I bring that now, as I think you don't have a connection to the car. Did you confirm that INPA gets you the two (or at least one) circle filled in when its connected to the car, with the Ign on? Steps 11-13.

Hey Allen, I realized after I asked the question. Yes I unzipped the files to C:\NCSEXPER\DATEN\E60 I did notice when I previously unzipped them that it created a sub folder within C:\NCSEXPERT\DATEN\E60\E60 so I removed the sub E60\E60 folders and then unzipped again for a clean E60 folder. I did have both circles filled in on the INPA when connected to the car.

Since you're staying up late...

Try this one more time and post the screen when the error occurred one more time. And indicate exactly after what keystroke the error takes place. I know it's repetitive, but we're going to get to root.

Also, in your NCSExper\WORK folder, see if you have a file named FSW_PSW.TRC, if you do, delete it
-------------------

If that doesn't work, move all the files in C:\NCSEXPER\DATEN|E60 to some other folder. Make sure there is only one directory in C:NCSEXPER\DATEN named E60

Then unzip what I attached below into that C:\NCSEXPER\DATEN|E60 folder. Reboot and try again
Attached Files
File Type: zip e60 03_28_11.zip (1.53 MB, 74 views)

Okay so removed the trc file, then tried again. Load profile, default...F1, then F3, CAS and I get the error. Am I overlooking something? So I downloaded the file and got the same results.

Randy, the clue are the words 'DATATRANSMISSION TO INTERFACE DISTURBED'. Thats a message that indicates the cable is not communicating with the car. If you unplug the cable from the laptop and go through the steps outlined, you will reach the same point and get the exact same error.

So

1. This is the cable from post #1 exactly K+DCAN, etc?
2. When you plug the cable into the car, its lights for approximately 40 seconds then goes out?
3. The Ignition is on before you open NCEExpert (the sequence is important)
4. INPA still shows two circles filled, even now?
5. You are using the USB port on the laptop you are sure is COM 1?

If you want to call me tomorrow, PM me an email and I will give you my cell. Good night. We'll get there!

Hey Allen, the cable is a K+DCAN, will make sure ignition on before launching NCEExpert, have loaded the drivers to ensure Com1 for the USB. Will give it one more try then that will let you know, will have to do it for tonight after that.

Hi guys,
I seem to be at the same point as Mark. I too am stuck at step #44 with the same error after I hit the F6 button. My car is a late 2007 though. My only clue to this problem dates back to step #16. I was not able to actually get the "F5" to read the status (I will take a screenshot of the error I got). I need to do some more testing though so I will report back my findings.

A screenshot would be helpful. Some of them contain error codes that have relevance to files you may need. That aside, step #16 in INPA is not that critical as long as your circles are filled in. And if you've gotten past the screen that shows your VIN and E63(E60), then your connectivity is good. Make sure you follow the sequence, and I know this is repetitive to some of you;

- Cable plugged into with or without ign on
- Cable lights for approx 30 seconds
- Cable plugged into booted laptop
- Ign on
- Lights in off position
- Air ventilation in off position
- Open NCXExpert>Fule>Load profile>choose a profile (you may have to try different ones)>File>Edit profile>password repxet>FSW/PSW>From CVT is checked>Dialog box has FSW_PSW.DAT>FSW-/PSW-Trace is checked>FSW-/PSW-manipulate with FSW_/PSW.MAN is checked>konsistence check>OK
- F1>F3>E60>CAS>...chassis E63(E60 and your VIN should appear>F6 returns to previous screen and VIN remains

Be specific where this goes into an error. We can all benefit from these glitches, that even I had at the beginning. The E60 series, specifically the E63 is unique to most of the procedures you will find on the web. I know some of you who have communicated with me privately ahve gottne this to work by retracing and in some cases reloading the program from scratch

Very important to unzip the original file into C:, not any other sub folder. The OBD setup and Path instructions in steps 5 and 6 are also crucial. You can make NCS Expert work up to the point of ...>E60>CAS, but after that it needs connectivity to the car and the proper files its looking for.

Keep us posted
