Found this interesting. A feature that alerts you in the instrument display when to shift to optimize gas mileage. Not that I want the best gas mileage. It enables the bc stalk with yet another option. Don't know if it will display on the HUD. Official BMW site states it's available on M5's; MY 2007 at least.

BMW EfficientDynamics - Gear shift indicator - BMW AG

enabled on a 330i
YouTube - 2007 BMW e92 335i 0-Vmax Accelerating Take 2 DSC-OFF

Unfortunately I cant find the line of code in this module, but I'm still looking elsewhere

Module: KOMBI
SP_ANZEIGE -> aktiv
SCHALT_PKT_BC -> aktiv
SCHALT_PKT_DAUERHAFT -> aktiv

Thanks for sharing Alan. Interesting feature.

In my humble opinion - an audible beep is better than a visual indication so that drivers wont have to take their eyes off the road.

Is there a software option on our beast that we can enable that when the tach reaches the yellow bar to emit a beep so we would know precisely when to shift gears (prior to hitting redline)?

Ahhh! Good ask. Another option to search for. I like that one.
