That is funny... how preferences and interpretations can be radically different from one person to the next.
I suppose i should've been a little more informative to begin with but here goes. My first BMW was my 2007 335i. Absolutely LOVED this car - not a single thing i didn't like (which is rare). Not the fastest car in the world, but by far the absolute best to drive.
At one point i looked at a 650i coupe with a 6 speed and after the test drive i couldn't wait to get back in my 335i. The 6 felt humongous (which it is), but i was expecting one of those "i can't believe this is a huge car" type of drives.
Some time later, I came across the M6, which felt like a totally different car than the 650i (I think most would agree with me), and after thinking about the swap and what the numbers looked like, i decided to make the change. I really liked the M6, awesome car, really special engine, but ever since day 1, i missed the 335i (i'm sure there are plenty of
after reading that).
Anyway... I put about 800 miles on the M6 from last November to last weekend when i turned it in... basically it was just sitting in the garage (VA traffic is AWFUL!!!)
So far, I feel like i'm back where i belong, in my nimble little tank of an M3. Don't know about the performance yet because she's still breaking in, but based on expectations, i'm sure i'll be satisfied. Get your
ready, but I don't consider M cars to be mind blowingly fast. They're quick, they're impressive, but if i want to go i'm buying something american and having a heads/cam package installed or forced induction.
To me this car (and my M6) represent class, luxury and performance in a well rounded package. They are in perfect balance and come together to make an incredibly enjoyable ride - I just find that the 3 series does it the best
