Looked at one of those today - Very beautiful car. Didn't take it for a spin yet, but is anyone here experienced with AMs and are familiar with this model? It is an 08 with 400 hp vs the typical 380 hp the 08s had. It also has many other mods. Is in the the M6 territory?

If you go with an AMV8, the 400HP version (4.8) is the one to have and makes a solid difference over the 380HP version. I think they are one of the better looking Aston's and sound GLORIOUS on the same level that a V10 BMW sounds incredible. Handling is good, ample power, but really could use another 100HP and certainly doesn't have enough power to keep me happy. The same goes for the DB9.

As my favorite chief hoodlum of Top Gear said "This is not a gear you buy because you need such a thing, it is a car you buy because you want one".

I dont think these are very comparable. I would see the AM as a more refined car, and the M6 more as raw power.

These options are not nearly as pretty and don't sound as good (stock for stock) but are FAR better vehicles for roughly the same retail price. Personally, I would go with the 997TT as it is a more daily drivable car than the R8, quicker, and far easier/cheaper to tune for substantial power gains. That being said, the R8 does have a nice exotic look to it while the Porsche is fairly "common". Decisions, decisions, decisions. ouich

My business partner has an N400...It is stunning to look at and listen to. It is quick but not fast..it does need at least 75-100 more hp. At least then it would be as fast as it looks. Amazing craftsmanship, fairly reliable and just drop dead gorgeous. I have driven it numerous times and it really has some presence.
