They'll be on there already Alan. Trust me, you wouldn't want to put them on yourself- takes about 3 hrs I heard!! I think the nav discs from BMW are under $10, its the FSC codes as you know that are the painful bit!

Here's some news about my Idrive2 installation...
I've finished my hardware wire. All is working near perfectly

New console

all the new harware to mount

My special USB in my glovebox

Cut the front to perfectly adjust

connect new Idrive controler to make test

You see the clim commande trim

Remove protection for wire modification

thermo gaine to protect

Put some special protection on wire

Connection to power

Here's new clim control back

Repose de la console centrale

Remove the bluetooth interface (on the left) and new combox/6FL on the right (new plug)

Here's the new combox in the car, wire modification, plug is reverse

Here's some screenshot of the system working

I haven't put all the installation details.

All is back in my car, missing my carbon CIC trim, must do a hardware modification for the backlight of my CIC buttons. I must put back my rear seats

Mimi, Thanks for the detailed pictures. I plan on tackling mine today. Are there any wiring changes you had to make? I know there are four wires behind the CIC module that have to be moved to the new plug.

And I believe there are two cable in the COMBOX that are unused, that were used in the BT/TCU?

Am I correct about that. I can't get hold of Patryk.

Thank you

New idrive controler ??
The old harness has two connectors for the old iDrive controller however the new LCI controller only requires four wires in one 4 position connector. Fortunately one of the two connectors in the old harness works perfectly for the new controller. We just have to remove the existing wiring in the 4 position connector and replace it with 4 wires from the 8 position connector.

Old - New - Function
1 ---- 1 ---- 12V
2 ---- 2 ---- GND
4 ---- 3 ---- CAN_H
5 ---- 4 ---- CAN_L

Clim controler
If you change it, you have to rewire pin 21 on the blue connector (blue with a brown line) and swap to the CLI Climate Control.
The power connector (2 wires) where I will be getting GND and 12V from
You can see on the photos I've posted

Combox
The following cables have to be connected to the Combox Media:
- Bluetooth antenna - yellow connector
- Fiber optics (MOST)
- Black and Blue USB connectors are options for the 6FL and 6NF options
- Main 26-pin connector based on the below pinout

1.For cars with TCU and MULF

TCU Pin# Combox Pin#
18(17)-> 1 Power+
21 -> 11 Mic O
19 -> 12 Mic-
36 -> 14 Gnd
1 -> 25 Mic+

MULF Pin# Combox Pin# (new aux cable from armrest)
22 -> 10 Aux Gnd (pin2)
23 -> 22 Aux O (pin1)
4 -> 23 Aux NFL (pin4)
5 -> 24 Aux NFR (pin3)

For my part on old connector brown/white on 11 and black on 32 stay there and are unused

Mimi, merci beaucoup

That is exactly what I was looking for all in one document. I'm not replacing the iDrive Controller at this time (I have the AC Schnitzer cover), and I like the controller as is. I will make sure the haptic feedback is set to 'high'.

I may have more questions as the day progresses, particularly the coding to enable all the great features of the COMBOX. I assume we have to add VO numbers to enable some functions. That's the part I am unclear about

encore beaucoup de merci !

Once again, very helpful. Yesterday was too beautiful a day to stay in the garage, so my wife and I drove up the Central Coast of California and didn't return until late

I'm going to the garage to start now. I will post successes.
