Hi Remi, I have the original LOGIC7.

Is it possible to just upgrade my amplifier to DIRAC AMP and leave the rest of the system as is?

You can change the HP without Amplifier, but not Amplifier without HP because impedance on Logic 7 is 4 ohms and DIRAC is 8 ohms... So your new amplifier could burn ... So first update all the HP with 8 ohms first
Part number is 65127845163

Hi mimi74
I have found some second hand speakers too.
But now when i count the speakers, bass etc. i can´t find more than 13 units ha ha
1 in the dashboard, in the middle.
2 bass under the seats, 1 in each side.
4 in the front doors, 1 in each door and 2 near the mirrors.
4 in the backseat sides, 2 in each side.
2 in the back/rear shelf, 1 in each side.
Which one is missing ?

the wiring is exactly the same as L7... Only 2 crossovers in the front doors to drive the tweeter... and a bridge on the FO connector on the DIRAC amplifier if this one is earlier than 09/2009 (put a bridge between 1/2 on the connector)

I remember measuring voltage both behind the CIC and on the white wire on the panel itself. So I figure I blew the control panel. Off the the dealer to get another. Luckily they were able to get one in two days. I rush to exchange the panel, which has a very delicate connector from the CIC itself.. No luck, no backlight.

I recheck my voltages at the front panel (white wire courtesy Mimi74), and nothing. I check the input behind the CIC and i have 12v on the feed. I must have blown the backlight control within the CIC. Everything else works fine. So I'm determined to get the backlight working andI use a needle as a contact point, run a 12v wire from the Cigar lighter and a ground. Bingo, backlight is on. well, deja vu Mimi; I start to wonder if the CIC backlight control is as well designed as I would hope. 3 panels later, I run a telephone wire from the door lock/unlock button just below the hazard switch, to a delicately soldered point on the panel. And backlighting! controlled with the same dimmer that controls the lock/unlock button backlight.

No clue why it happened, but I buttoned up the dash tonight. I also completed the glovebox and armrest USB and Aux/USB connector. Used some velcro that is unseen to affix the new armrest cubby, as its called. Almost there, a few ends to tidy up and electrically everything works. I hope to drive the beast real soon.

- Back of radio control panel and the soldered wire
- ready for reassembly
- Hazard switch connection (Grey/Red wire)
- Finished front
- My Sprint Booster control (another addition I decided to add along the way)
- USB in glovebox with iPod (which is no longer needed), and gloves, which just look good in a glovebox
- Armrest complete

I know this isn't for everyone, but if you do choose to upgrade a to a newer CIC NAV, we have some experienced people on the board

I'm anxious for the COMBOX with Telematics availability in the US. That would be nicer upgrade after the upgrade (allows both SOS, and other Telematic functions with the Media control)

Some pictures: sorry for the direction, just tired.
I have the same issue with a US CIC unit that I retrofitted into my M5. The guys at bimmeretrofit are gonna try to see if they can get it back on with some coding. I also lost my ability to activate Mute. Hopefully its a software issue and not hardware.
