The same photos have been posted in another thread. Don't believe everything you read about it having a soft-top. The one on the camouflaged 6er is a fake to my eye and the trunk line is what a hard top convertible would use and a soft top would not.

It will have a soft top, theres pretty much no doubt about that at this point!

Rumors are there will be a soft top included in the cabrio price and a Hard top vert for extra cash $$$$

If so that would be nice and a benefit for BMW. People can choose.

I have also heard this rumour, but think about it logically and from a business standpoint.

I HIGHLY doubt they will offer one car, with 2 different roofs.

Im just looking at it from a cost perspective, and it just doesnt seem likely!

Unless it is basically the same roof as the current M6, which in the pictures of the soft-top it did look identical. Then the only cost is the Hardtop which many people want. I can see them losing sales to Mercedes and others if there is not at least a hard top option imo

Truth be told, I met someone who works at BMW and is very well connected, and he confirmed that it will be soft top convertible.
We never spoke of this "hard top" option. But when you say hard top option, you mean a folding hard top? Not just a hardtop, similiar to what was offered on the E46 Convertibles right?

I know I'm sounding like a broken record, but the soft top on the mules looks like a slightly modified E64 item. I truly believe this is camouflage. It's hard to believe this is the production top since the rear opening is too low for the inside mirror to get a decent view. Notice the trunk lines which extend down on the sides of the car. This is normally seen on hard top convertibles. I suspect that since the E92 3 series and new Z4 have hard tops that we have seen the last soft top with the E64. I'd also guess that the MB SLs are putting pressure on BMW to do a hard top for the F12. But as M6Cabrio says, "I have been known to be wrong quite often" - just ask my wife (about anything and everything)!

Here is my rumor source: Take a look at this link.... 2012 BMW 6-series convertible soft top & body! Optional folding hardtop available. - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum - E90Post.com

then this one... 6-Series | BIMMERPOST = BMW Forum, BMW News and BMW Blog

Says optional Hard top available. I do agree with you Mark about the hard top. If they don't make a Hard-top convertible in the new 6 I think they will lose customers to mercedes or even the M3/Z4. The other photos I have seen of the new 6 is definitely a hard top convertible like you say, but in this last link it really looks like our current soft top version. One good thing is, after this 2010 I will never have to buy another convertible again if I don't want it hahahahahah
