Problem with convertible top opening and closing

I've been having this problem on and off the past few months, when the car's top is down and I try closing it it sometimes gets stuck right before the back trunk cover closes down and the green light next to the convertible buttons starts flashing red, whatever I do (opening it back or re-closing it) doesn't work, the light keeps flashing red...I turn the ignition off and wait for half a minute the trunk starts closing in automatically but the top stays as is, then I turn the ignition back on and try closing it again and after several tries it closes

Anyone's faced this problem before? I wanna take it to the dealer but
1- Our dealer's service sucks in Lebanon I dread the moment I need to take my car for inspection
2- I'm not finding time to actually take it to them

Any feedbacks guys??

Fawzi,

I've had this same problem. It occurs when I use my remote key fob to open the top. I took it to the dealer and they seem to have fixed the problem. They didn't explain the cause well. They said something about the connection between remote and car. There is probably some software adjustment they make. I've found it is best to research a cause then teach the service techs what to look for.

Could the software adjustment affect my ECU (I have a Dinan ECU) you think?
