Ford GT and BMW M5 are most certainly different cars. But, in the very essence of the word Exoticar, the GT is exactly that, and is a collector's car. I could easily see one in Jay Leno's garage; but probably not one of our beloved M5's.
FastOldGuy.....take it easy on this 63-1/2 y/o bluehair on your video. Y'all are pickin' on us raisins. Like the Geroge Jones song goes "I've still got neon in my veins......and I ain't ready for that rocking chair!" In the meantime I'll drive my "slugs" (E36 M3 and E39 M5). ;-)
With all due respect to you and any forum member I may offend by saying this but the Ford GT is an instant classic / collectible that most certainly does not compete with the M6. First of you can go into almost any BMW dealer in a major city and buy either a new or used M6. You can buy a used 06 or 07 M6 in the $50K range so IMO - the Ford GT is up there with the most sought after collectibles. Good luck finding one for under 150K.
OMG Now you done it ! If you suggest a Ford is better than the M6 in any parameter people act like you shot their grandmother. Now you have gone and said the whole car is better.

FastOldGuy.....the GT will outperform the M5 in many aspects, you are correct here. But the two cars, and you understand this, I'm sure, are like apples and oranges. One is 4-door, luxury appointments, just mouth dropping beautiful (in my subjective opinion), and maybe the best all-around car in the world (again, my subjective opinion). The other is better compared to Lambo's, Ferrari's, and Masarati's. I'd put my dime on the GT in head-to-head performance tests (what else could the GT be used for.....comfort?). As a daily driver, it'd be the M5, all-day-long (and all-year-long). For the autobahns for 2 people, I'd probably like to try the GT. Both are simply great cars that rate up there in the best cars in the world, but in different categories. If I had to select one of these cars as my daily driver for the rest of my life, I'd pick the M5.
FastOldGuy....where are you at in Texas? I love that place, especially the Tex-Mex food. I once tried to eat all of the seafood in Texas, or at least DFW on down to San Antone. I'm still hurting over that battle.....

I live in Southlake near the DFW airport.
I know the good Tex mex places. My favorite seafood place is Gaido's in Galveston try it sometime it has a huge blue crab on the roof you cannot miss it.
Be careful being nice to me now you might get shot in the cross fire. LOL

ROFL! Dude, your alright, no matter what they say about you! LOL -like I've said in previous posts, I'm a car guy - respect where respect is due the Ford GT is an awesome car. Even the European journalists liked it, I believe Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear owned one. I think they might have shot his grandmother though....

FastOldGuy, I usually like to stop in at Pappadeaux's after driving through Kansas and Oklahoma, where there are no good places to eat. Pappacito's has some kicking salsa also. Hey, I don't mind being nice to people; I'm a people-person. By the way, the blue on the M5 is.....cute. Yeah, I'm a people-person.
FastOldGuy, I heard a rumor that Texas was wanting to get another baseball team, one in San Antonio. Did you hear that? Apparently, the baseball commissioner did some research and did not like the idea. I thought it had to do with population density, or something like that. But, it turned out, that the people in Houston were way turned off by the idea. Apparently, they opined that if San Antonio got a professional baseball team in their city, then the Houstons wanted on in THEIR city also! HAHAHAHA! Hey, I'm a PEOPLE PERSON!
