Made it to Heidelberg

Well 4500 RPM in 7th is 120 mph, so that was the max I was going a number of times today. But did not stay there long as I need to keep varying the RPM.

Thirsty beast drank a half a tank in under 2 hours. 90 and 84 euro fill ups.

Anyway, 3 quick photos at hotel in Heidelberg. Internet speed here sucks. Can't watch Gustav's videos and the photos are taking forever to upload. (sigh)

Very nice pics indeed! I really like that colour, it varies quite a lot between lighter and darker shades depending on the light.

That beast must stand out soooo much in the Motherland! We all know that the M6 is KING of Germany unlike in the US, and Im sure those that know the car know that something must be especially special in this unique color combo

I will be honest and say that I didn't think I would like the colour combinations based on the description but you have an excellent eye and imagination to get the look right. That is just perfect. The wood is exquisite, just complements everything. I love it, health to drive in the sunshine!!!!!

Koa not Koala wood

Koa is the name of the wood. It also means warrior in Hawaiian. Gustav, Koala is a bear in Australia!

For those die hard performance only M6 drivers out there, I know this color and wood and leather are not for everyone. It does not shout high performance. But for me, this is a comfortable ride to and from work but secretly has the heart and soul of an M Car.

Wood in the car may be a generational thing. I'm old enough to remember when my friend's car Ferrari 275 had a wood dash (the glove box door was cut in place so the grain all matched) and the steering wheel was wood. So for me, wood and performance are mutually exclusive. But times change... Now you expect carbon fiber (which I'm also a big fan of). In the end I wanted something different but warm and comfortable. So I'm happy and I encourage each of you to consider an Individual and make YOUR car to YOUR taste!

Off to Paris today. I will have to part with the car in 8 hours. That will be hard. I've truly enjoyed driving it.

If you get a chance your more then welcomed to stop by Ramstein AB in Kaiserslautern. (I can sign you and your family in) You are not too far from me, maybe an hour? I own a store on base and we also have one of the largest M-Series car clubs called "M-Flight" Over 90 members throughout Europe.

Lucky for me I get all my gas on base, the Beast is always thirsty, LOL
