Bentley

The Bentley is a nice car, but not a true comparison. The Bentley is more like a MB CL class loaded. Lets compare it to a CL600 or CL65 AMG. The Bentley is way heavier (around 5000lbs), more of a tourer, luxury car, than a sport GT like the M6. Also at least $60k more, and the service is a gouge (not included by the way). I have a friend who is selling his 2005 Continental GT Mulliner coupe for $90k, loaded with like 10k miles on it. He is taking a beating, but thats what you get with these cars. An AM V8 is closer in price and performance, and could consider the masserati, but BMW service, build quality, and every day driveability plus reliability make it a special car. Also, in my occupation, those other cars are 'really flashy' where as the M6 looks like a nice BMW. Its not completely stealth, but nowhere near as flashy as the others. The Bentley draws way more attention than the M6 does. In fact, very few people know the difference between the 6 series and the M6. Most just think it is another 6. BMW was conservative on the styling, and they did not change the body much from the standard series car. This helps a lot when you consider that a 650i can be had for around $80k, versus $110k for the M6.

Peace,
Noushy

Too heavy and luxo. for me. The thing is like s big heavy AMG car! There is a speed version but it would not emulate the feel of the M6 on the road. I also don't like the image that's associated with this car. I get you suggestion but it wouldn't be for me

No, not really, the Bentley is more like AMG than an M.
It's way too soft and soulless!
It sure has the space, comfort and power, but not the involvment, handling or character of an M5/M6.

I see where you guys are coming from. I really would not know, as i have not driven either an m6 or a conti gt, but i could imagine it driving like a cl. I also agree that it does draw much more attention than the m6, not because it is very flashy, but because of the bentley name. In fact, I feel like the conti gt is relatively understated, but it is just the name that draws attention. The m6, in my mind is more aggressively styled than the conti gt, especially with the cf roof. More people definitely know the bentley name, but I still see a hell of a lot of people turn and watch when an m6 drives down the road in the city. People definitely can tell the difference between that and a stock 6.

We have driven an AM V8 though, and we were not impressive not impressed. You can't even compare that car to the m6. If anything it should be compared to the m3. I know for a fact that the m3 would out perform the the 06-08 my v8's, and would be very close with the updated 09 models. Keep in mind too, that these cars aren't cheap: a well optioned v8 volante stickers in the 150's, which is about 40 grand more than an m6, a car that will blow it away. You can only imagine the hit that you would take buying one new too. The car is all noise and no substance. But oh, that noise... Aston Martin caters to the customers who pay attention to the fine details, like the number of hand woven stitches in their door panel, while forgetting about the enthusiast. I just wish that car had more substance. It's that type of car that you just want so badly to perform more, because it really has the potential to be so good.

I was just having this conversation today and we decided that the warranty and reliability truly makes the deal for the m6. There is no other car offering similar performance with such a great warranty and build quality. I guess it's the m6 after all. And you can put the 40 grand you saved by not getting the vantage into some mods.

It was James Bond (Sean Connery) that made Aston look like the gentlemans sports car, but regarding to the price of the V8, here in the Uk it retails at £79.000 apprx and the M6 at £82.000, so it is not more expensive.
It handles well, but hasn't got a sniff of the M6's power and lets not forget " they break down all the time "!!!

haha yeah it will spend more time in the dealership than on the roads. Wow, I didn't realize that the m6 is so expensive in the UK. It's definitely worth the extra 3 grand over the v8 though. How much is the m3 in the UK?

The M3 starts at £50.000 for the coupe.
Yes you are right for the M6 being so expensive in the UK, because all the motoring magazines and top gear, described it as a stupid choice over an M5, which is practically the same car, with 2 more doors and a little bit more space!!!
And yes, I am stupid too for buying it, but hey, I have not regreted it in 3 years now and apart from an M5, we can't find another car that can replace it!
