I'vd had this dilemma for quite some time, and can't think of any suitable replacement....

only two things that interest me are the sl63 and the Ferrari California. . .

tough to justify the extra money - seeing our cars are practically worthless

WOW!

For the past 6 months, I have been dealing with exactly this problem. I think M6 owner/drivers all think alike. The car (my 2007 M6) has 52k miles on it. It is my main driver, and takes me 6 days a week to 5 different hospitals and 3 offices. It has a great trunk, can be driven most of the year, is an excellent highway car (ride a little firm), comfortable, seats 2 big adults, and even 2 kids in the back, and doesn't make you tired after driving 15 minutes (my 911tt). My dealer has been wonderful, the service is included, and mine has given me zero problems. The only unscheduled service visits were for a fault piece of carbon fiber trim, and a damaged right door sill plate. I have absolutely loved my car, and really didn't know what to get to replace it. I would have loved a new body M6 but that won't be out till 2012. I drove a new 997tt, a Nissan GTR, CLS63, C63, M3 (coupe and convert), Lexus ISF, and even considered an AM V8. In the end, my dealer hated seeing me go, offered me an amazing deal on a 2010 BMW M6 convert. My lease payment is $500 less than my 2007 M6 coupe. Ordered it, and will be the first 2010 M6 convert LCI in Michigan. My advice, hold onto your M6s, there really is nothing else like it. There are faster, there are bigger, there are flashier, but none with the quality and attributes of this great luxury GT.

Peace,
Noushy

I am 100% with you Noushy!
Maybe an M6 Conv might be the answer.
I am a sucker for the carbon roof though, but what a good idea!!
You can also get to hear this monster V10 in all it's glory!

Although the M6 conv is a fantastic machine --- I must say I am disappointed with the lack of room. Rear seats are close to useless you move the front seats properly forward to a position that would make taller drivers slightly uncomfy. Plus spare tire is in the trunk so I don't even have room for a toothbrush in there (unless I just take it out altogether but since the M6 doesn't have runflats like my ex-M3, it may be risky to do so).

What?????
Do you have a spare tyre?
How can this be?
In the UK we don't have a spare tyre.
All they give us is a can of spray foam!!!!
And trust my lack I had 3 flat tyres so far, where in the past I owned cars for years with out ever having a flat tyre.

No spare

Sorry mate, in the US we have the M mobility kit. There is no spare in any M6. They do promise lifetime roadside assistance for tire problems. As for rear seat room, I agree, it is small, but similar to the coupe. I do miss the carbon fiber roof, and the rear 3/4 view is better with the coupe as well, but I could not pass on the deal I got. It worked out to about $14,500 off the sticker of a brand new 2010 M6 convert, built to my specs (all options except soft close doors and high beam assist). Carbon Black on Sepang. Thought I would try something different until the new M6 comes out.

Yep. I was surprised too actually because when I got the M6 Coupe demo car to try out in '06 it didn't have a spare in the trunk. Maybe all cabrios have spares in the trunk? I don't know. Here are some snaps I just took now showing the little space I have. Bit dark as its dark outside and the garage lights aren't very strong.

I really want to take it out and keep it in the garage but, like you, knowing my luck, as soon as that happens I will get a flat. Sod's law. lol

I think you might have come up with the answer guys!
If you have an M6 coupe, the only other car you can replace it with is the M6 vert

Seriously now, there is absolutely Nothing else that comes even close when it comes to complete package.
Yes there are some brilliant track day cars, but you can not drive them every day, you can not put the wife and kid/s inside and the trunk is a major bonus too!
Everyone was quick to criticise BMW for their 11 gear mode SMG, 3 suspension settings, etc etc, but you see, they gave us a car that you can taylor made according to your mood of the day and time!

Only replacement that I would consider would be a Porsche 911 (either Carrera S or Turbo) or maybe a CLK DTM AMG as I am in love with that car.
