Road Trip!!

About a month ago, got my first M6 (2007 w/11k miles). Previous to this, owned an 2005 M3 competition package. Made a lot of roadtrips in the M3, and now look forward to the M6. The M3 would nearly beat you to death when trips exceeded 600 miles. Comp suspension, no cruise control made for some long trips.

A couple of weeks ago, I installed the Escort SRX and Laser Interceptor. The SRX was previously protecting the M3, and since the M3 and M6 both share the same ashtray, interior install was almost too easy. All hidden away from prying eyes. Although girlfriend was a bit upset when she found the vehicle torn to pieces on the driveway during install.

Last weekend, put on a new set of Pilot Sports IIs since the previous Contis still had wear left, but the front right vibrated bad. Whole chunk of interior rubber peeled-off, exposing the cords. Must have blistered or something. Piece was about 6 cm x 10 cm. Exterior looked good,... worn, but not wore-out. Anyone else have this issue? Glad I changed them out.

Hitting the road at 2:00 pm and trip looks to be 10 hours. Will have to see how the M6 can trim that down.

The M6 is comfortable at high speeds, very smooth at 100MPH

Enjoy your roadtrip: may you have no tickets or flat tires

Have a fun trip. Haven't done a long trip in the M5 or M6, but as you know they are very comfortable cars. Even the V10 can be quiet at cruising speed (assuming thats below triple digits ).

You'll love the M6 on long trips, took a 300 mile each way road trip and loved it all the way, specially in the triple digits. Enjoy!!

Enjoy your trip! It should be a little more comfortable in the m6 lol. Let's hope the radar detector does its job.

What a pleasure, sort of....

Made it to St. Louis late last night. Most of drive very fun and relaxing at the same time. Not sure if that makes sense. I am amazed how well this car handles freeway driving, and triple digits. At 100+, the car acts as if not working at all. Only activated the 'power' button a couple times to add to the fun.

No Tickets!!! I hope my luck holds out. This morning noticed that I must have caught a big bug or small bird into the lower air intake, and knocked a laser shifter from location. Will address this when I get home.

You may have heard about an accident on I-44 in Oklahoma. Not me, but we did come upon the scene at 8:00pm and they were still cleaning the carnage from 1:00pm. I-44 east was closed, but happened to get back on the tollway eastbound by my confusion. Drove through the scene they were still cleaning-up. I have never saw anything like it. There was blood all over. I haven't come across that much blood since seeing a deer get creamed. Nine people died in that one. I felt about sick after reading what happened this morning. Heading out again at 7:00am

Wow. That was a horrible accident. I personally hate semis, just because of the damage they can do. They do serve a purpose, though.
