Detailing (UK)

Hey guys,

Mainly for the British folk but overseas please chime in also.

Any of you know a reliable car detailing company?

Anyone had it done recently?

Preferably in the southwest.

Thanks.

Not sure of your question? Unless you are talking about different quality levels of detailing?....:

If your budget allows (as this is NOT cheap) try Shine-On detail (Professional Car Detailing : Shine On Auto Detailing).

The guy's name is Paul and he actually featured on 5th Gear earlier this year when they did a feature on car detailing. He predominantly uses Swissvax products which is why he's not the cheapest...but the results are outstanding. Your cars' paintwork will look better than when it left the factory...seriously!

I had my previous e92 M3 machine polished by him and my M6 is being done next week - it's covered with some very noticeable swirls which Paul simply makes disappear. Check out the examples on his website...I will also try and post some before and after pictures on here when he's done mine.

He's based in the Reading area but will come to you - I live in Leicestershire which isn't exactly local for him but his travel charges are reasonable and definitely worth it.

Highly recommended - I hope this helps.

I use John Drake at Johns Wax
john@johnswax.co.uk - www.johnswax.co.uk
He travels to Devon to me from Hampshire. I rate him as excellent as he looks after three of my M cars. My M6 is on his website. Take a look!

lfc - I assume that is your (German registered?') M6? Very nice indeed ; I have been considering those Schnitzer wheels for mine but they are incredibly expensive.

They look like 20's?? What's the ride like on them and is it noticeably different to when it was on standard wheels?

Yes they are Schnitzer 20". The car also has Schnitzer springs. I got the wheels a couple of years ago when the local BMW dealer was offering a set including tyres for £3200! Seemed too good to miss. I cannot say that I can feel any difference in the ride against the standard 19s. They are much lighter than standard apparently. The car now has Brembo brakes on it and the whole thing in my opinion looks and feels great.
