Annoying Ticking Noise When Idle!!

Does anyone else have a slight ticking noise when your car is on and idle, but once you give it gas the ticking goes away...

Its very annoying, to be at a red light and hear this noise, now its starting to get to me...Who else has this problem? Is it normal?

Do you hear this noise on cold starts? or just all the time, whenever your car is on?

Because I think on cold starts its normal to hear a similar noise from the chain (from what I have read, and remember hearing myself)

If thats not the case, and you constantly hear this noise while idling, then I suggest you take your car to the dealership.

Hope this helped,

-Moose

I think the noise you are talking about is a normal engine noise, I had the same feeling when I got the car, went to dealer looked at other M5s and M6 they all have the same noise, so I would not worry...

do you hear it from inside the car or when standing in front of it?

is it louder when the car is cold?

If you're in front of it and it's louder when cold it's the Vanos and is normal. If you're in the car and it's there all the time get it checked out.

passenger side window noise

Hey all,

My passenger side window makes a nasty noise as it's opened and closed. Noise starts and stops depending on where the window is with it's closing and opening. Does it need lubricating or something?? Any ideas???? Have CPO.
Thanks!

Don't worry guys, the ticking noise is made by the fuel injectors.

Perfectly normal.
