I think if AMG continues they are going to get an edge on the M cars, not only in terms of raw power. If you look at all the recent Black Series cars, they are all extremly evil where is BMW's answer to that. The CLK DTM is HOT! I demand an M6 CSL 1650 KG with 600 HP 5.2 V10 or smth similar, that would make my year! )

Yeah I have seen those, AMG is becoming like a proper tuner however backed up by the factory. BMW individual need to pick up and unite with the M divison, I have always liked BMWs because they are more sport oriented whilst Mercs are more of a luxury cars, looking at the current AMG range I begin to doubt that... (

....And still coming up short in most comparisons I have seen. They can go after M all they want. I'm not too concerned. They remain overpriced and a step behind as a road car.
