Clear Marker Lenses

Hi All,

Just picked up my 2008 M6 CV, Black Sapphire w/ Full black merino. It is awesome! A few questions.

Does anyone make clear replacement lenses for the amber markers in the front of the front fenders?

Did anyone's car come w/ run-flat tires?

Should I have received the latest Nav DVD? I got 2008.1.

Thanks in advance!

Jan

Most people I know have either painted or tinted the amber marker.

Yes, you should have gotten the 2009.1 Nav DVD, it's been out quite a while now. Released September 2008!

There is no clear marker available, since european models do not have a reflector on the fender.

I thought the 2007 was the last model year that had the amber corners. You sure you got a 2008? Hope you did a Carfax etc...before buying.
I have been thinking for quite a while now to do something about my amber corners. as well but not sure of what to do. There are many threads out there on this. I am going to sound like a recording but perform a search.
I had read a while back there is someone in tampa that you ship him your headlights and he will ship them back looking silver.
The M6 does not come standard with run flats. What you can do for peace of mind is bring along a full spare in our "huge" trunk. Seems a lot of people are able to buy at a good price an OEM M6 rim in places like Ebay.
Enjoy the M.

I recently painted mine with excellent results. I posted step-by-step instructions in this thread on another board: DIY Painted Reflectors - BMW Forums at Bimmer Drivers

Thanks Boss!!!

Boss,
Thanks for the great tutorial on the painted reflectors. I just picked up my Black Sapphire M6 vert and took some photos. While looking at them I noticed those UGLY reflectors! I thought that someone would have made a clear replacement. I ordered all of the supplies! I'll post some pics when I'm done! Thanks again, people like you make these boards great!

Thanks. Remember, prep and painting technique are key to good results. It's not all that difficult and you'll love the results.
