I recently (earlier this week) took out a GT-R for a test drive....I can attest that it is insanely fast at low speeds...from 0-70 or so i dont see any modded E60 M5/E63 M6 beating one; i know because i have a very fast M6 myself, but i dont even think i would be able to beat one at that speed...above 70 is a different story, as our cars with enough mods would definitely have a shot I feel...It is just incredible how that car gets so much of its power to the ground...also, Gustav regarding the shifts; the GT-R does have the DCT, so you can manually shift the car, however it also will automatically upshift at full throttle @ 6500 RPM or so, even in full race mode as i had it...it was really the only annoying thing about driving the car. I've heard there was a way to override this from a friend, but i couldnt figure it out.

Very nice short review, thanks for that. Yes, it seems VERY fast at speeds but speeds approaching 100-150 mph a tuned healthy M6 must stand a chanse

Agree with you all the way "J".
I just raced one from 20 to 80 mph rolling start. My M6 is fast - ( as you can attest) and it was one car lenghth ahead.
Its strange how it pulls away though. Its not like a 911tt - which is fast and brutual. The GTR seems to slowly just pull away. An impressive car IMO
Video to come (of course)
By the way the GTR refused to do any high speed runs with me -20 to 150mph was what I wanted
"J" you can adjust the transmission setting in the GTR by selecting the race setting "R" when you have absolute control and the fastest shift time - and manually selectable. Alot of GTR owners are just finding this out. It works especially well on downshfts for lightning fast shifts
Cheers
