        EvoSport Carbon Driveshaft

Anyone have this yet? They claim a 5% increase of power to the rear wheels. Seems like a great way to reduce total weight and rotational weight and decrease drivetrain power loss. Was wondering if anyone had any experience with it yet?

Here you go! Page 2 of 8 at the bottom. It say price TBD so I'm thinking it might not even be in production yet.

Why would they put it for sale if it isnt even in production? I am going to check other places online for this driveshaft especially with a 5% increase of power to the rear wheels...

5% of 450hp to the rear wheels would be 22.5hp gain, so most are looking at about 20rwhp gain. Nice but not enough to justify an outrageous price. Hopefully it will be reasonable.

The gain will depend on what modifications the car has and 5% of 600rwhp is 30rwhp which is a pretty good gain for only replacing the driveshaft...now the price might be a problem

hey guys. Let me answer some questions.

First, here is the shaft on my M3:

        To answer some quesitons asked:
        1. IS THIS AVAILABLE: No, not for he M5. More below
        2. WHO MAKES THIS: We use ACPT (linked above in the post)
        3. WHEN: approx 3 months
        4. HOW MUCH: $1200-1500

The additional cost and time are due to the rear C/V that they are having to make may add a few bucks and HAS added time. The original manufacturer of the rear C/V's that ACPT uses (who is in Germany, and OE's this piece for BMW/Mercedes, etc) stopped making them. So we are working with ACPT for other sources.

In fact, ACPT have been over here every day this week (they are across the street from us).

I hope this adds some good info.

Strength in numbers. The more people who are interested, the faster I can get them. Right now I have about 30 Mercedes customers who want them, so the M5 guys need to let me know ASAP!

PS - There is a good discussion of this on MBWorld.

        thanks
        Brad

M5/M6 - same boat. Same shaft flanges, different length shaft. No problem to do either one once they are ready.

        thanks

Brad, thanks for answering some questions. Do you have any dyno graphs by chance that show the power increase?
