This doesn’t mach what I’ve experienced first hand, I have a 2007 M6vert with ECU and full exhaust by AA, 21”HREs out of the 5 AMG MB (Witch by the way are a dime a dozen down here) SL55, 2 x CL55, CLS63 and SL55 Renntech the only one that took me was the SL55 Renntech, the others were clearly in my favor. I even had my top down for the CL55.

Could the temperature be a factor with these AMG's?

The 55 kompressor AMG's have major heat soak issues resulting in shut down superchargers. The 63's are hit by heat as well although not nearly as bad.

are you watching the same videos i am? the first shows the sl start ahead of the m6 and the gap stays pretty constant (even race). the second show the sl pulls gently on the m6 and the the third shows the m6 pull gently on the sl. those 3 races show a draw to me. when my car was bone stock (with charcoal too) I pulled slightly on sl55's on highways. with stock wheels this video likely would have been the same, but with the heavier wheels they are about even.
Now from a dig or 1/4 mile is a different story. When I raced SL55 from a dig it seemed obvious I would need more than a 1/4 mi to catch up. Throw some software on that 55 and I'm toast.

I beleive HRE wheels could be alot less weight than Hartge '21.

That day it was really cold and it could definetly have helped the SL55 AMG.

I believe JIDEX is taking into account the M6 being modded and the SL55 being stock. If the M6 vert with ECU could just keep up with a stock SL55, then stock vs stock the 55 should win...

I guess, but ECU on S85's get you about 5-12 rwhp max. Which may or may not be enough to negate the extra wheel weight of the Hartge's, so performance should be very similar to stock.
As far as others claims about vert having more hp. I think it's related more to build date than body type. There was a thread a while back where a few verts dyno'd higher than coupes on same dyno and day. IIRC the verts were newer build dates. It's more likely that BMW has gotten slightly better at making S85's since they started than purposely tuning verts differently.
I need to get to a dyno soon, I might have a freak on my hands. When I run very fast vehicles on the highway (997TT's, Z06's, SL 55's, Gallardo's, M6coupes/M5's) I'm doing a lot better than I would have expected given my extra weight. I planned on doing dyno runs before and after my headers but I was hit by a truck on the way there and the extra time and insurance BS cut into the time allotted to dynox2 and do headers. There are no dynos near me but I do go to CT and NY frequently.
