M6 side grill vs. other M models?
In looking at the side grills of the M6, I was wondering why the designers chose a side grill that was not really different from the 650 in design

The M3 and M5 side grills have always been somewhat unique from their prospective base models...
What was their intention on the M6...more subdued approach?
Which side grills on which M model do you like the most?

agreed, its pretty much the same except for the M badge.
I think its because the 650 is the same width as the m6 so bmw didnt need to produce a different fender to go on the m6. They use the same.
I know the for the 3 series, the m3 is wider than the 325/330 and thus had a different fender made for it which I guess allowed them to design something new for the m3.

Correct. Fenders on M3 and M5 are different than standard cars while 650 and M6 are the same.
Also M6 is really stealth like, even compared to the M5.

Stealthy until you hear the engine....then again, Americanos love the sound of the burbling V8s....they might think the 650i is faster because it has a V8

The little M6 badge appears to be just tacked on
The rectangle interrupts the smooth trim piece and looks tacky
One of my first modifications was changing to the 650 part.
A direct part swap
