Has anyone experienced the convertible top going down automatically when the car is shut off? I went into the garage this morning and the top was down with the windows rolled down as well, and know for sure the top was up a few hours before.
Did you possibly hit the unlock button on the remote? You know you can roll down all windows and put the top down with the remote, by holding the unlock button down for a while. I have had this happen when my key was in my pocket and I sat in a tight chair and accidently unlocked the car, rolled down the windows and lowered the top.
BTW, you can only do the reverse (all Up) by using the key in the driver's door, at least in U.S. cars. Might be different law in other countries, but in U.S. no remote should put windows up (our gov't worried about accidents with children).
He would have had to have sat on the button in the perfect position with it depressed for about 40 seconds, in close proximity to the car. Unlikely if you ask me.
I appreciate the feedback. Additionally, I called the dealer and the service mgr mentioned that some 3 series convertibles were reported to have done the same thing on comfort access featured cars. I'll keep it out of the rain just in case!
