To all you m6 owners out there what made you decide on purchasing your m6? Iv owned a m3 and now own a 650i and I understand how amazing bmw's are in every aspect, however for that price range there are so many options. Lets say back seats or trunk space wasn't an issue for you would you still go for your M6 or would you prefer a porsche for example. I feel that for that price I myself would rather purchase a 997 GT3. I'm not taking aim at the m6 I just would like to know the reasons behind your decisions.... For those who have had the pleasure of owning other supercars how does the m6 differ it terms of feel, rawness, and overall fun? -- Ronnie
This is the first real supercar that I have had, but I think comparing it to the GT3 isnt fair as far as price goes. I think the big draw of an M5/ M6 is that it is the most powerful, well rounded supercar you can get for 100k. Also it can be fairly comfortably used as a daily driver which is what drew me in.
Well in the last 5 years, I have owned or now own, 360 couple, 360 spider, 575, 430 couple, SL55, M3cab, 997S cab, and a Maserati Qportte. The M6 (moded) has the most HP, is the most well rounded, and was the best bang for the buck.

Factor in the 4 year maintenance...this is truly a value IMHO...
I have had GT3, it is not the best Supercar. I agree with the others, M6 is very well rounded.
See it was not just about raw HP for me. I am tired of the raw HP wrapped up in a package that is not usable everyday. The GT3 was great on the street, but shined at the track. I spent lots of money getting it right and at the end never drove it on the street.
This time I wanted a great car, I was not really looking for a "super car" and I really have not thought of the M6 as such.

History for me, I loved the M6 since my father had it in 1989,
it was blue with tan interior, I used to love the quality of the leather
on that beast he was also an M6 fan but never liked the rest of the BMW
range.
I have owned BMW 850I V12, Ferrari Modena, MB CL65, Z1 twin turbo version "96", leased 360 spider, and other none super car category cars.

Don't forget that the GT3 is brilliant mainly for the track, but lets all admit we are not always on the track and we also carry passengers with us ( I have a wife and kid plus their bags)
Not too much price difference between the GT3 and the M6.But GT3 go for 130. or roughly around there. M6 Coupe's go for 110..for 130 you could find a used Gallardo..i just feel the M6 for 110K is the best car on the market at this price..not only does it have free maintnance, but its alot more reliable than a CLS 55 or CLS 63, which is probably the only car that i feel is right in line with it..but its up to you what you want to choose :-) goodluck !! have fun and drive safe.
It was love on first sight. I had a 645 cab before.
I like her as a daily driver and don't want to miss the comfort while of course wanting the HP and the handling.
