I was told if I place an order I should get it in the end of September
with whatever options and color I wanted, so if you are to order now
and catch the first patch of cars to the US before the dealer submit
what they want, u can get yours in the first patch

Try to arrange Performance Center delivery
The MY 2007 M6 started production at the start of September 2006. If your car is build in the first week of MY 2008 production, you might have it in late September.

Correct. For most if not all German mfgrs, after the August holiday (yes, the entire month), new model year production begins in September. As a rule of thumb, allow approximately six weeks from the date your car enters production in projecting a delivery date.

You might also want contact more that one dealer. Each dealer gets an allocation of cars, the production number is the key to the process. The production number is a model (coupe or cab) and a build week. Dealers are able to trade production numbers, but they need to make a special effort.
Some background information about my purchase a year ago. Order placed August 29, delivery October 13 (west coast).
Build week 37, can I make changes?
A friend did a Performance Center delivery in July, then drove cross country from Spartanburg to California. You live in South Carolina, so take advantage of this free bonus. Scheduling the at Performance Center might create a delay, but it will be worth the extra wait.

Is the 2008 M6 model for the USA the same version as the new facelifted 6's? If not when is the production date for the facelifted M6? Of course for the US market.

Yes. 2008 MY M6 starts September 2007. It will be the facelifted model.
Rumor has it, BMW is slashing M6 production for 2008. Apparently M3, M5 and M6 engine production is straining parts manufactors. So M6 is going to suffer a bit as far as production goes.
As of now, large major dealers who were getting 4 are getting 2 and 3 are getting 1. So model allocation for 2008 M6's are half of what they were for 2007. I am sure this is only a temporary thing.

Nice so since it is already September, I guess any brand new order from here on will arrive with the face lift? Btw, this is for U.S. models or Euro?

Both. e63 is World car. When they build it does not matter for delivery date, only where you live.
Somtimes, BMW will have release dates for new models that will vary for distribution, but that has never applied for mid cycle changes.

Limited Supply M6
If BMW slashes production on the M6 -- will that not benefit those of us who already have ours? Part of the allure of any M car is the limited production and hence the relative scarcity. BMW may have overbuilt the 07 MY and the dealers no longer enjoy the "market factor" price premium and actually let cars off the lot for MSRP.
I have yet to see a reliable picture of the 08 facelift but the word is that the adjustments are subtle. However the complete next generation 6s (MY 2010?) look to have a strange descending character line that begins at the top of the front wheel arch and slashes downwards almost to the bottom of the rear arch. A bit reminiscent of the odd (my opinion) slashing lines on the Z4 or the F-car 612 Scaglietti -- regardless of price or pedigree. I don't need an M6 prettier or softer or embellished with nouveau linework. I appreciate the honesty of the current car, the directional attitude of the horiz character line and the bangle boot lid, but BMW will do what they will. And if they use the wrong marketing clinics and focus groups---ah well. All the more reason I am happy to have mine.
But, congratulations to all who've ordered their 08s.. http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/ima...s/beerchug.gif
