Video Modified M6 vs Subaru STi-RA
Acquired a modified M6 for a weekend and it was ...
I cannot believe how quick this thing is for a big car....
Previously I wasn't a huge M fan, but after just one weekend in the beast I am totally converted. For performance, looks, and VFM I would choose the M6 over a Gallardo or any other competitors any day.
We also had a run with a Z06 in the M and surprisingly enough took him out by about a car length.
Also hooked up with a 600 bhp GTR which was a monster....The vid for that will be upcoming soon.
Hooked up with a modified STI and made a video, the RA was fast.....
Enjoy the vid....

Nice video, but what were the modifications to the M6 other than the ECU tune?

Looks like you had fun. It sort of looked like the M6 driver needed to get acquainted with the car more. The launches seemed soft and slow. Were you really racing the STi or just playing around? I couldn't tell if the shifts were actually happening at 8k rpm due to the music unfortunately.
Also, you should have tried using launch control...you would have had a big grin all night.
Looks like a fun time all around.
Cheers,
Darren

Shifts were using the HUD which is excellent...... M mode was selected and setup correctly all throughout. The first Launch was pretty good and the STI didn't pass straight away, but I agree the second launch was very poor, just bogged down abit....
I was shifting perfectly according to the HUD, but the RA only weighs in at 1200kg, which was a big plus in its favour. The sound was a bit distorted on the vid so music had to be added onto the background. We were racing, its just a shame that the sound distorted in windows movie maker, I will post up the original movies before editing as the sound should be ok in them..
When I came across the Z06 we did take that out by a car-length upto 100 with the same launch style, and the guy was well impressed with the M and didn't think that he would lose to it....
As a note the same STI has taken out the new 997 Turbo numerous times as well as a few other exotics. He did say that he was impressed at how the M6 faired compared to some other people he has raced in the past.

Cmon. That STi was not stck!! That Sti also probably runs low 11's to high 10's in the 1/4 mile based on it's hp #'s and weight. Race does not surprise me at all.

Yep ,I can hear the whine in the video. Nice race car and reminds me of Norris Designs EVO's.
Alot of these guys don't realize the potential of these cars as they are highly detuned from the factory as well. Just because it's a 4 cyl does not mean we can take it for granted! Thanx for the vid.
