Dunno, but I'd guess it's b/c the M6 (like all BMW's) are electronically limited from the factory whereas the cars on that list are not ( afaik).

BMW claims it will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.6 seconds
(0-60 mph: 4.1 s [Road & Track [2/06]) and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). With the limiter removed, the top speed can reach 330 km/h (206 mph). However, people have managed to achieve an outstanding top speed of 340km/h (211.27 mph) - displayed by the HUD.

I thought the M6 was unrestricted in Germany. Hans Stuck hit 194 on the Autobahn with a stock M6 on the show Test Drive last year. He could have gone faster but a car pulled into his lane. That demonstrated the brakes as well.

What about the M5? That sedan will also hit 205 mph according to Wikipedia too.
You know, the M6 can't get all the glory.

The European M6's are also limited unless you pay for the M Driver Option. It raises the speed limiter to 305 km/h, and requires attendance to a one-day BMW sponsored driver training event. I attempted to purchase the option initially, but because my car is US Spec'd, it was not an option.

Hmmm... seems they didn't do their homework... I was under the impression the new Audi RS8 or w/e their BMW 6-Series M competitor is surpassed 200 mph too, could just be an old list.

There are many cars that are capable of breaking the 200 mph mark on the speedometer, but reaching a TRUE 200 mph is somewhat different--usually 5-10% different.

If this "5-10% logic" is correct does that mean when the speedo shows 0mph that you might actually be moving even if the wheels are stationary.....ha ha ha

OK, it's official... you are not a math whiz...
5-10% of 0 mph is... yep, you guess it. 0 mph.
