        car pulls

Replaced left front tire, then car pulled right.

        Had alignment. Still pulled right.

Complained. They checked, said alignment perfect.

Complained again. Tech said TIRE PROBLEM. Noted more tread on lt than on rt.

Tech swapped rt and lt front tires. He was right. Now pulls left but much less than before.

Solution? Change air pressure in tires? -3 in rt front and +3 in lt front?

        SUGGESTIONS?

        TIA

Tires can only be replaced in pairs here in Germany for exactly the reason you are having problems. You should replace the other tire before your new one wears too much. It's the only solution. Sorry that you got hosed on this...

+1. This will be the only solution curing the problem.

        Interesting.

The only thing I was going to suggest would have been tire pressures as this is what caused my car to pull. I would have never thought about the tread wear on the tire that wasn't replaced.

You might be able to get away with the tire pressure settings, but I would think that in some situations you may run into the dreaded "TIRE DEFECT" message if you don't continually monitor your tire pressures.

Also, I would think that there might be some additional wear issues on the middle portion of the lower treaded tire due to the higher pressure.

I agree best option would be to replace the other front. Bummer for the additional cost though. :-(
