My Alarm is too sensative
at work I have to park on a pretty busy street at a meter, trucks are constantly passing by as well as loud enough cars. I am not sure what is causing it but my alarm goes off almost every day and I get to the window pretty quick and there are never any people near my car so I do not believe anyone is purposly doing it. Does anyone else have a similar issue? Can the alarm be made less sensative to vibrations/noise?

AJ, not sure as to sensitivity adjustments, (perhaps someone will chime in), but I will say that your post reminds me of an age-old joke... Patient (raising one arm): Doc, it hurts whenever I do this..
Doctor: Then don't do that.

While I'm at work on a busy street? You may as well have just cut to the point and asked if I'm a moron, lol. NO the top and windows stay up

In honor of this thread, my alarm went off for the first time last night
The real cause (I hope), is that the "panic" button was pressed while the remote was in my pocket. The windows opened and the trunk opened on other nights, with the same cause. I usually take the keys out of my pocket to prevent these random events

Yep, your BMW dealer can trace (in the diagnostic memory) which sensor triggered the alarm. Years ago in my Z3 they had to adjust the hood sensor,. They figured out it triggered 17 times the alarm almost always due to nearby passing trucks.

My SA said there was no hood sensor to adjust and the diagnostic showed no error messages. So basically this is going to keep happening which is absurd, I guess I will have to wait for it to happen one more time before I make a big deal out of it, which it almost certainly will tomorrow. How could he have no idea what sensors there are? I asked him to just dumb down the alarm and he said it couldnt be done.

There could be sensor in the glovebox that is no good. I had the same problem on my 2003 540i, what kind of test did they run?

Ok, call me "Mr. Nitpick", '86, but...
"Concealed" is spelled with a "c", not an "s". Imagine if the three "S"'s were also spelled with a "C" -- "Chit, Chower, and Chave"...
It loses something, don't you think ?
PS: If you took me seriously and start calling me Mr. NitPick, I'm gonna locate an "Ice Pick", for, ahem, shall we say, an appropriate comeback...
