Experiences with Ignition Solutions Plasma Coils?

I saw these for the e60 M5 and wondered if anyone isntalled them.

Not worth it from my experience black. Did a couple on the E39 M5 and they never really did anything for performance to match their price point. Maybe someone else has better experience with the E60 set, but I'ld advise to save your money.

Interesting what else they have there. This is the first time I saw this for our cars:



And $519 from Bimmian, not too bad. Has anyone tried this one?

They look kind of cool, but I cannot figure out why they would be an improvement over the OEM airboxes fitted with the BMC filters. Would they be expected to reduce the air intake temps or improve airflow? What filters would they be using?

In theory, it's because the cones have greater surface area, which can allow for greater airflow at a given filtration level.

This being said, it looks to be a non-sealed system. Open systems are hot air intakes, not cold air. So, while a hood-open dyno may show a power increase, a closed hood dyno should show a decrease.

I'd love to see a dyno comparison though.
