WHAT F'ing difference does it make when he told me what. We still raced and he lost. Never mind what I told him--I was sure he was going to win, and maybe to satisfy my fears he fed me his line about gear changing problems to give me a sense of security. I don't know. He was polite and I was polite. We admired each others cars, shook hands, introduced each other's wives to the other, and raced our cars. He was a class act that didn't whine and snivel when he lost a race. I'm sure he was just happy to be there with a lot of nice cars, NICE PEOPLE, and the comraderie that comes along with it.
Don't tell me 'congrats on your win...i guess.' if you don't mean it. The people at the airfield in Sweden meant it when they said it as I did to those who beat me.
