I can't see the results of the race because of a pole in the way. It seems apparent that the Viper had better acceleration at launch, but the M5 pulled it in rather quickly.
What is not listed here is the Cda. You're going to have to Google for that yourself as well as the numbers for an SRT-10 Viper.
if you can't see the results why did you say the m5 won? regardless, you don't need to see the results to understand that the viper crossed the line first since the et/mph board lit up in the left lane before the right lane (although it's possible the m could have had a lower et if he was sleeping at the light). and there really was never much more than a car length lead at the start.
like i've been saying...there's information about this airstrip race that isn't being shared. it would be important to know if a car is handicapped or should be running in the special olympics isntead of one of gustav's events. ironically information like the following is just now showing up on mbworld but not here??? PATHETIC!!!

I didn't see him after the end of the day.

As far as I know none of the owners outside of the Ruf RT12 (damaged right rear tire) and the Supra (ignition issues) reported any faults with their cars. For whatever reason it is always feasible that there might be some small issues with other cars but the owners certainly never mentioned them up to now.
It would be interesting to have the Viper owner post here about the exact specifications of his car and if there were any known faults with the car on the day.
I could have sworn someone posted on other threads and forums that the viper was having transmission problems. They stated that he had to let the revs come down before he could get the car in gear and had alot of trouble getting into third. I believe it was RussRamz that posted the info. It seems like most of the Non M cars had "issues"
Edit: Chiromikey beat me to it

Thing is that Gustav was trying to run as many match-ups as possible that day. That means it's impossible for him to spend meaningful time with everyone. It's only days after the fact that all the information becomes available.
That's not an issue to true gearheads who will understand that things can - and will - go wrong. And find it interesting to analyse why a certain run ended the way it did. Also it is a fact that owners - only after being soundly beaten - will feel the need to bring up things they didn't find an issue before the run. Which again is not an issue to a true enthousiast who will be happy to see the same run again at a later event.
What this thread does make obvious is that there are some mighty insecure people around that feel the need to accuse this as being a 'staged' event. That's just screwed up on so many levels...

+1 million. Gustav is taking alot of time to upload these vids for everyone's viewing pleasure and now he's taking crap even calling into questions his motives (just to sell DVD's) or staging the event. Everyone is assuming Gustav knew everything about every run especially when he is trying to video tape etc is a ridiculous expectation. Just enjoy the vids, no one is trying to say BMW is beats all, especilly when the Ruf kicked everybodies butt.
