There's a shop called Prestige something or other right off the GWB in Fort Lee. Always has top end cars there - never used them myself. But, if AMGs, Ms, Ferraris, etc. are there, they can't be all bad.

In case you haven't settled on the other shop, check out http://www.cd-autobody.com/ in Northeastern Jersey. I was very pleased with their attention to detail and customer service.

They do a lot of body work for the local Northern NJ European car dealerships. This shop also comes highly recommended by Rogue Engineering.

Another option is Gabriel's Sportscars. Address is 393 Walnut Street, Yonkers, NY. Phone number is (914) 965-1888. I don't know if it's still the case, but Westchester BMW used to outsource all their paint and body work to these guys. The did repairs on a previous 528i and 540i for me and they both came back perfect. Reasonable prices, accessible by Metro North from Manhattan. Just an additional option for you if the others don't work out for you. Sorry for the bad luck, but once repaired you'll never know it happened!

Another vote here for C&D Autobody. I will not let any other bodyshop touch my car except for Matt. The quality of work there is amazing, the best I have ever seen around here. Yes he's expensive, but it's always worth it for the best.
