I'm not sure they pre ran the cable you need. On Andrew's 07 they didn't.

What you need is the loom with 2 green fiber optic cables and a brown and orange cable. On our 06's the X18180 connector was already on the end of the loom and connected to the CDC. See labeled pic attached.

Check that loom on the right in your pic. Does it contain a green fiber optic cable and the brown and orange cable? If so you can put the X18180 adapter on yourself (but MAY still need a reprogram). If it is not there... you are stuck with having the dealer run it.

did u have a cd changer?
also try this go this site http://www.bmwdiscountparts.com/ thats were i bought what i needed u can call them or email they will ask for your vin and tell u exactly what you need the only thing is if u never had a changer u might need to visit the dealer for them to program once u installed the module. But just so u know if u do a search here in the forum theres plenty of info ..my persoanl expierence that i had was i disconnected the changer and plugged in the module and within 10 minutes the ipod worked.

I believe if you turn the power on the one which has "light" coming out of it goes to in. I didn't have to attach an adapter though.

If you had a factory installed CD changer you'd likely have unplugged two connectors to get it out - One for power (which it appears we see in your photo) and the other for the MOST bus connection.

Remember not to stick anything other than the fiber optic cable into the MOST bus connector. Fiber optics are easily damaged.
