It's hard to tell, but it sounds quite a bit louder than stock. What can you say about it? How has the sound changed - especially in the cabin?

See this is why videos are tough to gauge. It's really not that much louder than stock. Trust me, nobody even bothers or pays attention to me anymore after I removed the Meisterschaft I can say that stock is too quiet that you don't even hear the blip from the downshifts...you can hear them now with the header! And for what it's worth, I did remove the resonator from the stock muffler.
As far as inside the cabin: I can take a video if need be. Again, not much louder than stock but you can certainly hear more engine on acceleration.
I personally think it's too quiet. We're building our own system for the car and should hopefully have it at Bimmerfest in May.

I think it sounds good, a little bit louder than stock, thanks for the video!

Not trying to be a PITA here, and maybe it's just me, but I can hear the throttle blips just fine in complete stock form. That was one of the first coolest things I discovered about the car when I bought it. I think many of us felt that way in the beginning and still do. As they say, everything is relative. You spend a lot of time around modded cars and have become acclimated to louder cars IMO. Someone who drives a Lexus will think a stock M5/M6 is loud as he11.
All that said, I am considering headers (your headers) for the performance factor only. I would actually like it to sound the same as stock or very very close to it (based on my standards). Now for the questions:
If you just changed the headers and left everything else completely stock would you get the same performance gains as our brothers who are losing the cats, removing resonaters and so forth? I assume the gains would be less, but how much less? Have you installed headers only and left everything else completely stock on anyone's M5/M6 and performed a before and after dyno to measure just the header changout?
Does removing the resonaters have a big impact on sound in the cabin? I know this is tough to answer, back to the relative argument, but I really want the noise to be the same in the cabin with the header mod.
Thanks

I feel you, I'm thinking of the same set up, I'm sure with out the secondary cat delete; it will sound less throaty, and less intrusive. I would say that the gains would be around 30 hp...I could be wrong, I'm sure Simon can clarify.
One thing is you will probably have a little more torque.
