M5 VS E55/E63

I couldn't agree with you more. Very glad you wrote a very fair comparison between the two of my favourite sedns. I hope you enjoy your E55.

I must say I find these threads more and more boring. Scott, yes you are flag waving and you did say the M5/E55 test in Europe were "bogus".

Point for me, I am happy for you in whatever car you are driving and there will always be something different or we wouldn't buy other cars!!!!!!

These discussions remind me of the E39/E60 threads of old!

Lastly, don't write something and expect somebody not to agree with you on the M5board! LOL!

Well, you didn't have to read it!

I don't mind disagreement. It's the putting words into my mouth that bugged me.
For instance, I didn't say the tests in Europe were bogus. I specifically mentioned the USA cars' videos. The USA LC is a joke, and when I had my M5, it pissed me off that we didn't get that option. I believe w/ euro LC, the M5 is likely faster than the E55. It's just that you can't do LC from every stop light where you can mash the pedal at every stop light w/ the E.

If I was flag waving, there wouldn't be MULTIPLE times in my post that I sited M5 as having the advantage in a particular area.

OMG the 911 Turbo with GT3 looks a LOT better than the standard wheels ones.
Oops, almost forgot, great write up.

I was going to post something about this thread until I was distracted with that sexy 997! ........anyways both cars are great, its all preference, sometimes we confuse preference with a legalistic attitude of "my Car is the best!" .......BTW I would choose the M!

My own off topic post of the 997 TT is distracting I know. It's sort of like when you're in a conversation and a smoking hot woman goes by and you're in mid sentence saying... "Uh... uh... what were we talking about?"

Moved some posts to a separate thread as they were dragging this thread needlessly off-topic.
Yet another 1/4 mile E55 vs E60 M5 thread

I used to have a C32 AMG ( I know its no comparison to an E55) and though the torque was fantastic it was also its worst enemy. The tires would often spin in the dry and in the wet it was spin city. The lower torque of the M5 though annoying sometimes does in a way give extra traction off the line for amatuer drivers like me

Scott, thanks for laying down your thoughts. Fair write up, and the little things are always going to be subjective. Enjoy your new ride, and sorry the Lotus didn't work out as you planned.

Moved discussion about 997TT to separate thread:
Cobaltblue 997TT with GT3RS wheels

Scott - at least try to keep your own thread on-topic.
