It was a sweltering 17.5 deg C today in London I turned the ventilated seats onto max just to see what they did. They made some noise but must say couldn't really tell much difference. Are they meant to cool my back/*** as much as the warmers heat it? Are you actually meant to feel air blowing out?
I live in hot and humid Kansas, U.S.A., and I have found the ventilated seats to be quite nice. There are a number of small fans in the seats which, at least in my M5, move enough air to really cool my back on a hot day. Frankly, it's one of those options which one could certainly live without, but I would really miss not having it. Bottom line: I like the ventilated seats.
I had the same thought, the fans are kinda weak since it doesn't really cool your thighs or *** or lower back but blows air over your shoulders most the time. On the high setting it is a little annoying to hear a hissing sound.
Although its better than nothing, I wished they would have used a more powerful fan to drive air on the seat part of the chair instead of the back. Maybe I just weight too damn much and that's one way of letting me know I need to lose some weight.
They take air off of you, they don't blow air onto you. Infiniti blows cold air up your cheeks. Whoa, wierd feeling. That setup will change your temperature. Our setup will keep icky things from happening to you. If its hot out, I turn the seats on IMMEDIATELY so that I don't get that "monkey butt" feeling. If I'm on a long trip, I run the fans on low and I find I don't dance around in my seat as much.
Do the our fans cool you? Nope. Do they remove humid air from your back and butt? Yup. Will they quickly change your temp? Nope. Will they keep you from getting sticky? Yup.

Completely agree - I love 'em when you're sat in hot stationary traffic in London...

Thanks. I wasn't quite sure what they were meant to do and in the manual there is about 4 lines about them. I take it from your post its a more subtle system than blowing ice cold air up my tradesmen's. I'll probably appreciate it more when the weather is really hot, when in the past I used to get a sweaty back(in my MB)
