Intermittent Comfort Access?

My Comfort Access system operates intermittently in the "normal mode" (keys in pocket)...but fine in the "old fashioned" mode" (holding on to the keys, and pressing the buttons).

Yes, I do intend to have it looked at when it goes to the dealer for service.....but I think there may be a little more to this as BOTH key fobs behave in the same manner.....perhaps it is simply a case of evenly discharged batteries.....

Either way, weak batteries or "something else"......I look like Dorf when I try to be cool, enacting body movements that assume the door will open.....only to have the door NOT open.....and myself slam against said car.

I'm curious if anyone has had any non-battery related problems with their comfort access system? A search did not reveal anything definitive....

THANKS be to you!

My system doesn't work if my cell phone is close to the fob. As soon as I seperate them the system works flawless.

Tom, do you have more than two keys and/or have you had a key replaced? The CA system can only "pair" with two keys and your symptoms suggest you might be having pairing problems.

Mine has starting acting up in the last few weeks and left me in similar "idiot pulling a door handle to a car that is locked!" situations.

I have great difficulty in locking via comfort access from the drivers door, so i now resort to touching the back door handle to lock as i walk past.

I suspected it was my battery in the fob so i replaced it and it's no better but since it only has issues with one of the 4 doors I think it's just a faulty part which will be looked at next time it's in.

I don't have two keys in close proximity and it happens when my phone is on me or not

Mine is also intermittant but getting worse and worse. The dealer never finds anything wrong with it, but the next time I bring it in, I will demand they replace everything if they don't definitively isolate it. It's annoying.

The link that was provided by a "responder" has some good information.......you will find a list of parts that were replaced, with success. I certainly agree with you: IT IS annoying....no comfort there at all.....

Mine is very hit or miss, particularly when locking the car. I don't mind much b/c I rarely use CE. If I could do it over again, I would have foregone the option.
