Just took delivery and half way to break in - but have a prob [Bubbling 3M bra]

Hello again. Thank you all for giving me the advice I needed in such a short notice. Definitely made me feel like I am part of great community. I picked up the car yesterday morning and did a 400 mile trek home, which gave me plenty of drive time in 36 hours. The car drove a lot better than I thought it would. Never turned on the M mode as many have mentioned not to until break in. I already contacted my local dealer to have the vehicle serviced for the 1200 on Wednesday. (can't wait!!! ). The vehicle is definitely a beast compared to the E39 and much more refined the E46 M3. Both vehicles gave me quite a thrill, but I could automatically tell the difference in my initial 10 miles of driving in both interior quality and smoothness of the beast. I have not had time to take some good shots of the beast, but here are some snaps of my baby on I5N where it was pretty sunny yesterday.

The only negative experience here or at least I'm not letting it ruin my purchase is that the 3M bra put on by my dealer is bubbling in a lot of places. I noticed them when I picked up the car, but my sales manager told me that it would go away in about one month. For some reason I do not believe it and my suspicions were correct. Take a look and tell me what you guys think and how you would handle this. For now, I am not going to name names here with the dealer I dealt with, but I paid $1100 for this and want to see how they are going to fix this for me since I am about 400 miles from them.

Leave it in the sun for awhile and see if the bubbles go away. It prolly shouldn't have bubbles, but the sun treatment might cure it.

Edit: Beautiful car! congrats!

here are some quick shots of what I caught. Perhaps I'm being too picky too early? oops, they are still on the camera. I will download them later tonight and post it. By the time I got back, there was a lot of dirt on the bubbling parts in the mirrors and nose. Grrrr

Uhhhh....if there is dirt under the film inside the bubbles, it needs to be completely removed and re-applied.

Other dealer

Ask the other dealer to do it.

All they do is get some 17 year old kid, wash the front of the car.....have it wet and soapy and either squeegee the bubbles out or you can use a pin to poke a minute hole in the film and then squeegee out the air.

I know the notion of poking a hole in the film is not appealing but this is what they do.

You can do this yourself but it is a pain the butt.

+1 ....you paid A LOT OF $$$ for this car....don't settle for anything less than a complete replacement! I have had zero problems with mine (so far?)...so I know it can be done!

3M dealer applied 495.00 not 1,100.00...wow sorry is your hole sore??

Have them replace it, the stuff cost the installer 60.00 a set for parts...

No question about it. Have them do a full replacement at no cost to you. Don't accept it until you're happy with it. Good luck!

I used http://www.premiermobilegroup.com/ and the clear bra was perfect. Something is wrong with your setup and the price you paid should get you the best, don't let them take advantage of you.
