I quickly scanned through this thread, hope what i'm about to say isn't a repeat...

UK Autocar magazine says the UK price will be £67,075 - thats a £3,580 or 5.6% premium over the saloon (£63,495)

Production is due to start in March for delivery from May. I'll be at my stealer on Wednesday to get further details on my ever delayed order (actually no bad thing cos i'll get this facelift one now). If i get any extra info i'll let you know, but as they seem pretty clueless don't hold your breath!!

Cheers,
David.

Nope ordered the saloon, but will enquire about possibly changing, i'm coming from a Range Rover so an estate M5 might be a sensible choice, not quite convinced with the looks though!

IMHO, I think it looks better than the saloon...

But then I'm biased, I suppose!

Added this:

From Product Planning and Strategy BMW Dealer Bulletin entitled "MY 2008 5 Series Facelift".

"The MY 2008 5 Series will begin production in March 2007 and will debut at the New York Auto show in April 2007."

"The vehicles will also receive more luxurious interior, additional options and a refined interior."

Specifically under the M5 section on the fax includes this:

"The M5 will receive the same interior enhancements and exterior headlight modifications as explained above." "Exterior Colors: Space Gray metallic (A52) replaces Silver Gray metallic (A08), Monaco Blue Metallic (A35) is now available, Platinum Bronce Metallic (A53) will be available as of 06/07 SOP". "New Options: Heated steering wheel (248), Soft close automatic doors (323), ipod/usb adapter (6fl)".

"The interior of the 5 Series has been revamped with more premium design. The vehicles have new doors with wood trim along the top. The new front passenger door handle is wrapped in leather and the location of the door handles has been moved. The window buttons are made of a softer material, the center console is wrapped in leather, and pearl-gloss chrome inserts are now on the radio and temperature controls." "Ipod/USB adapter (6FL) will now be available as a factory installed option. This allows customer to fully integrate iPod's functionality into Idrive when connected. The does NOT use the CD changed connection."

2008 E60 US Ordering Guide

Here is the U.S. Dealer Ordering Guide for the LCI. It confirms the new colors, soft close doors, heated steering wheel, & iPod adapter for the M5.

It also sort of confirms the early build dates for model year 2008 M5 ... heated steering wheel available May 2007, and Platinum Bronze Metallic paint starting June 2007.
