Dan,

Thanks for saying what you said. I agree. Purple8888, do what Dan said and you will find out that He is one of the most helpful people on the board. Purple8888 do you know how a forum works? You post a question and then wait for a response. What you did was go all over the board and post your question every where, in any thread, and all the threads that were not related to your question. That shows us your mentality, I doubt you would do that to a group of your friends. Respect the board and they will respect you. The minute I saw you posting everywhere in unrelated areas I did not want to help. You have two choices, apologize and lets move forward or leave. By the way Dan, has one of the nicest M6s and I have driven with him....He knows what the redline is too, but that really does not mean anything either. Enjoy.

Purple8888,

The fact that you post that you abuse your car speaks volumes. The fact that you say it was worth it if that is what blew it up is indicative of your attitude. Pay to play junior, pay to play. If you want to drive like you stole it, ok, your choice. If you want to maintain it like you own it, welcome to driving a car out of warranty. Much less buying one when it was already out of warranty. I am sure you got a "killer price dude".

Now your spelling and grammar. I do not need to point that out, because your simple lack of education and your inept post does that for you. You wrote it, and I am sure you are beaming with pride. I expect to see an "edit" tag here soon. But maybe I should not "criticise" you for that.

Now, as far as you abusing WhattheHeck,

F.U.!!

F your dog, your mom, your mailman, and anyone that has ever come in to contact with you. I hope your car sits in your carport so long that the cheap playboy air freshener hanging from the rear view does not smell anymore. I hope you make payments on your non functioning pile so long that Obama's kids will be having kids by the time it has a new motor. I hope that every time you think about how you are going to get your car running you think of this post as it sits and all you hear is crickets instead of the sweet purr of the motor. Mine starts, and runs great, WhattheHecks runs and sounds better than mine. So sit there on the stoop of your apartment, put your hat back on the right way, turn down the Justin Bieber, and pull up your tough-skins and act like a man. There is no time on this board for little D Bags. Grow up or go away. Most of us would prefer the latter. (and so you do not have to Google what "prefer the latter" means, it means go away). I am off to go start my car, you?.....not so much.

Your right I wouldn't of joined if my m5 was still working .I didn't even know it existed till I started looking for help with my car.Usually forums are full of dicks like you. This forum though has lots of decent car enthusiasts who are more than willing to help and have given me lots of advice (I've had loads of replys off sound people who were happy to help me ). With them also owning a nice car they can sympathise with me. You clearly have nothing better to do ...why don't you ask your local dealer if they can rebuild you m6 engine?? (that's if you have one which you probably don't or you would understand why I want my car back)they will tell you it has a nickel bore and cant be rebuilt .they say it needs a new bottom end at £12500. (do you not think I would of tried my local BMW Dealer??)
Why would you criticise me for screwing the **** out of my M5 ? I dont care if you are one of them pussy`s that own a nice car and dont know how to drive it. its nothing to do with me ....Like my car and how I drive it is nothing to do with you.I drive it properly ...Love nothing more than red lining it through every gear and doing big donut smoke outs whenever I can . If thats what broke it then **** it ...It was worth it and when I get it back thats what im gonna do again. When I drive down the road people are glad that at least someone has a nice car and knows how to drive it . Im sure when you toddle past not going over 4ooo rpms they think you dont deserve it.
Stick your critical comments up your critical opinionated *** and go get a life. And when your car breaks down (which it will very soon ) think of me :-) x
Any credibility you could have pulled out of this was lost with your immature use of language. When you stated "Where do I start," you should have written what you want, read it two or three times, recognized it's inappropriate and thrown it away. You would have vented, recognized you needed to take a deep breath and then not looked a fool. But. . . .

Sure, your feelings are hurt, your toy is broken, but you need to show respect for the forum which you are a guest of. However, since you are quick to make global assumptions of people you do not know (you must feel a bit foolish now), I will play your game and assume you were coddled by your parents, probably an only child and breast fed until your pre-teens.

Silly, isn't it? Were does that assist you with your original question?

My advice is to understand the term "I drive it properly". Ask your tiger mom, why she did not let you out more often so you can engage in social settings with proper etiquette and have a little thicker skin to allow one to be criticized in a positive manner.

Lastly, sadly, there are two who posted they "Like" your rebut. Wow, that might make you feel good, but you are your two new BMF's are in the minority. However, when the cost of membership has dropped to what it has, the quality of members reflect that. Good luck alienating the veteran members with the information and experience you seek.

Good luck as a positive member of this forum.

Purple8888,

Just so you know, Dan is the nicest and most respected member here on the forum. He has been a great help here to all of us. Having that said, what you just mentioned was a completely opposite direction about him. YOU don't personally know him yet, and once you do, i'm sure you will understand and get the respect. Also, it is also suggested that you apologize to Dan for being disrespectful to him.

Cheers,
Ed

p.s.: for you to EARN some respect, YOU must LEARN how to respect others..

I think it's safe to say that since purple888 hasn't said anything since his initial post he isn't coming back anytime soon.

Dan is exactly right. While we are free to disagree on things. Name calling is forbidden on this Board as are personal attacks.

@purple888 (if you are still here), I see that you are new here. So let me welcome you to the Board. You find that if you are respectful, people here are extraordinarily helpful and friendly. But there are "rules of the road" here as well. So, if you feel like making an angry, name calling post - JUST DON'T DO IT HERE.

We value the civility of this Board (which is all too rare on the Internet). Please be a polite member and you will be welcomed. Bad behavior is subject to peer pressure (as you are seeing) and if continued, may lead to sanctions or being banned. Which no one wants.

Good luck with you with your blown piston ring. I think Dan did offer valid suggestions, so please take them in the spirit they were offered.

Also, having been here for a number of years, I'd say that blown rings are not that common. So, you are free to start a new thread if you like. This point being, 40 odd posts into a thread about FAQs, a person who might help you might not be reading this deeply into this thread.

Cheers

-- Mark

And to all of my long time friends out there - remember not to sink to his low level and call names back. We are better men than that.
