What is TUV Approval equal too?

  • What is TUV approval products means?
  • Should the TUV products mintain the same warranty of the original BMW factory?
  • Can BMW says NO to TUV products?
  • Has any one faced a situation where BMW says no to TUV products and did not accept to fix the damaged parts caused by the TUV products under warrenty?

TUV is just a standard like ISO. If the part is not BMW OEM, then they will in all likelihood be able to deny warranty.

If I'm correct DIN is the German equivalent of ISO.

TUV is more like a testing institute but does not set / make standards like ISO and DIN do.

TÜV is equivalent to Underwriters Laboratories (UL) in the US. They both test products to see if they can cause harm, catch fire, etc. From what I recall from readings the TÜV is more strict than UL in terms of standards and testing procedures.

very true, although Deutsche Industry Norm and ISO are not completely comparable, DIN is applied to measurements normally, whilst ISO (9002, 14002) is more like a safety/quality rate..DIN and US-based SAE are more comparable.

US-based UL is more like CE in europe if you ask me
